The weekly, very comprehensive activity programme with many hiking tours from easy to demanding is one of the highlights of our hotels in South Tyrol. The mountain tour to the summit of Lagazoui in Alta Badia is particularly popular. It begins in San Cassiano/St. Kassian and leads up to the small Lagazuoi Lake, which is surrounded by the bizarre peaks of the Fanes Group. Gradually the vegetation becomes sparser. From 2,500 m above sea level, the surroundings resemble the barren lunar landscape. The last ascent from the Lagazuoi saddle to the cable car station runs in serpentines on the steep slope, again and again we see the remains of the fortresses from the 1st World War. At the top, the panoramic view is overwhelming. Then we take the cable car down to the Falzarego Pass and from there we take the bus back to the starting point.
