FURKELPASS

Spectacular landscapes, long straights and winding sections are offered by the Furkelpass, which connects the villages of Olang in the Pustertal and St. Vigill in Enneberg. At the Furkelpass, different cultures and language regions meet at 1,789 meters above sea level, because the mountain pass marks the historical language border between German and Ladin-speaking areas in the Dolomite region. On the 19 kilometer long pass road you will overcome an altitude difference of 744 meters with a breathtaking view of the majestic mountain landscape.

STALLER SATTEL

The Staller Sattel connects the Antholz Valley with the Defreggental Valley and separates the Rieserferner Group from the Villgratner Mountains. WÜRZJOCH

The Würzjoch in the Dolomites is a true gem for all sports car drivers. A distinctive mountain landscape and challenging, winding roads make it a dream destination for anyone who wants to feel the quiver of the engine on the asphalt. The route from Würzjoch is known for its steep climbs, deep valleys and spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. The curves are technically demanding and require a precise driving style to get the best out of your sports car. But the challenge is worth it, because the views of the breathtaking landscape are simply incomparable.

GRÖDNER JOCH

The 2121m high mountain pass Grödner Joch, called Jëuf de Frea in Ladin, connects Wolkenstein in Gröden with Corvara in the Gadertal valley. To the west, the view of the 3181m high Sassolungo with its characteristic elongated south face, which gave the massif its name, is impressive. To the east, the view opens up to the mountain peaks of Val Badia as well as the Tofana peaks located even further east. The view from the highest point is sensational: to the south the Bruneck Tower on the Sella massif, to the north the Cir peaks, to the west the Sassolungo and to the east the Fanes group. The route is part of the Sella Ronda, swinging west around the Sella group and ending in the ramp to the Sella Pass.

SELLA JOCH

The pass connects the Val Gardena valley in South Tyrol with the Val di Fassa in Trentino. In summer there is a lot going on here, as the Sellajoch is part of the popular Sella Ronda, the loop around the Sella massif. The pass road itself is relatively challenging - flat sections and long straights are few and far between.

PORDOI PASS

The road that crosses the Pordoi Pass stretches for more than 22 kilometers and features gradients of up to eight percent and a total of 50 hairpin bends. Despite the demanding drive, the landscape along the offers an impressive view. The Yoke is surrounded by several mountains over 3,000 meters high, which belong to the Sella massif and the Marmolata group. The road connects the Italian provinces of Trento and Belluno through the towns of Arabba and Canazei. At the top of the pass, which reaches an altitude of 2239 meters, there are two monuments to admire: one to the Italian cyclist Fausto Coppi and the other to those who died here in the First World War.

CAMPOLONGO PASS

The Passo di Campolongo connects the municipalities of Corvara and Arabba over a distance of nine kilometers. Although it is the lowest of the four passes around the Sella massif, with a pass height of 1875 meters, and part of the famous "Sella circuit" in the Dolomites, this does not affect the fun of driving, as the curves of the road are well built. The scenery along the route also offers an impressive experience, especially from the south ramp, where in good weather you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Marmolata.

FALZAREGO PASS

Passo di Falzárego is another highlight in the Sellaronda area, as it is the eastern highlight of the Great Dolomite Road that connects Cortina d'Ampezzo with Cernadoi. The pass road was built in 1909 and was the last, but technically most demanding section of the Great Dolomite Road between Bolzano and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The area around the pass is lined with rocks and those who wish can climb the Small Lagazuoi from here either on foot or more comfortably by cable car.

FEDAIA

 

As an alternative to the Pordoi Pass in the north, the Fedaia links the provinces of Trentino and Belluno. The road has been upgraded and now offers a continuous two-lane carriageway with gradients of up to 15 percent. Although some interesting elements of the old route, such as the approach to the Sottoguda Gorge, are now closed, the top of the pass on the eastern side of the reservoir and the dam wall on the western side of the lake offer impressive views of the glacier-covered flank of the Marmolada.

GIAU PASS

The pass has a total of 55 turns, making it a highlight for car enthusiasts. The southern ramp is particularly charming, while the northern side, which leads to Cortina, is surrounded by dense forest. After the road was upgraded, the pass offers a continuous two-lane roadway with gradients of up to 18 percent. The top of the pass on the eastern shore of the reservoir and the dam on the western end of the lake offer breathtaking views of the glacier-covered flank of the Marmolada.

VALPAROLA PASS

This pass is often used as the northern access to the Sella circuit, since its southeast side leads directly to the Falzarego Pass. It is assumed that already in the Iron Age metal smelting was carried out at this place, as individual furnaces were still recognizable in the 19th century. For this reason the pass also bears its name, which comes from the Latin word for "iron furnace alp". Today, you can enjoy a relaxing break at the small Valparola lake - and with a backdrop that you won't find anywhere else.
