Ice, ice, baby!

The ultimate nature experience

Val Pusteria/Pustertal awaits you with varied experiences in nature. How about a bit of ice skating?

Today we tell you a real secret: Which lakes near our hotels in Italy turn into paradises of ice during winter. The tranquil Laghetto d’issengo/Issinger Weiher is a real playground for little ice princesses in the cold season. Ice skating is also particularly beautiful at the famous Lago di Braies/Prages Wildsee and at the Lago d’Anterselva/Antholzer See. Running on natural ice is a very special experience and a good alternative to staying in roofed halls. Even if you may not be able to perform an Axel or a Pirouette right away – ice skating is an experience that you won't forget that easily. In addition to the natural lakes near our hotels in South Tyrol, the Hotel Lanerhof offers you its own ice skating rink. 50 metres from Hotel Winkler and 200 metres from Hotel Sonnenhof there are also beautiful ice-skating rinks. By the way: Did you know that you burn about 500 calories per hour when skating?
