News from Kronplatz - The Kronplatz - Alta Badia Dolomites connection is now a reality!
Kronplatz is now closer to the center of the action. Since the construction of the new “Piculin” cableway in the winter of 2006/07 means that the connection to the Alta Badia facilities are now a reality. In Pikolein a low-floor bus service connects the route between Kronplatz and Alta Badia every 20 min. This means that skiers can reach the Sella Ronda right outside the hotel with their skis!
The new lift on the southwestern side of the Piz de Plaies with the valley station in Picolin will cover a distance of 1,500 m and an elevation gap of 500 m.
The new cableway will be able to transport 2,400 skiers per hour. A modern service center with parking areas, information point, ski rental, ski depot and a restaurant will be built in the valley area.
The adjoining attractive “Ancona” red line will be 2,000 m long, cover a difference in altitude of 500 m and lead to the Ladin village of Pikolein over rolling terrain. In Pikolein a low-floor bus service will complete the connection to Alta Badia at intervals of 15 min.
